My family and I have been to a lot of places in Florida, but this was our first trip to Palm Beach. We stayed at a condo right on the beach and since we went during off season, it was not crowded at all. Lilly Pulitzer is one of my favorite designers and Palm Beach is where she started her company. There are 5 stores that carry Lilly in Palm Beach and the surrounding areas. Of course I had to visit them all. The original store was located in Via Mizner on Worth Ave. That store is no longer there but there are a lot of other great stores along Worth Ave. if you are looking for high end shopping.
POLO
We decided to go in April because we wanted to go to a polo game. Having always liked horses, I wanted to go to a polo match. I have done sports photography for several years and I wanted to take photos at the game. It was fun to find all of the people wearing Lilly. When we went on the field to stomp the divots, several people wearing Lilly came up and talked to us about it. Lilly is an easily recognizable brand and the people that wear it are usually obsessed with it and thus it creates an instant bond between people wearing it. You feel like you already know them and could be best friends.
What to Do
I always make a point to see all of the lighthouses there are on every vacation we go on. There are two lighthouses that are close to Palm Beach; the Boca Raton and Jupiter Inlet. We saw both, but actually got a tour and we up in the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. The views at the top were great and it larger lighthouse that can allow for multiple people to walk around at the top. The Palm Beach Zoo is also a great place to visit while you are there. They have a lot of different animals and it was fun to walk around and take photos.
Where to Eat
There are a lot of good restaurants that are on the beach or water. The Aruba Beach Cafe is great for lunch. They have good drinks and food. The tables are inside so you can cool off, but they have large windows so you can still see the beach. The Square Grouper in Jupiter is on the bay and offers good drinks and basic bar food. U-Tiki is good for a nice dinner on the bay. They usually have a long wait, so it would be a good idea to have a reservation.
